The Halo series is known for its local split-screen feature and has been in many games. With Halo Infinite launching, players may be wondering if this feature has returned and, if so, how to play it. The good news is that split-screen is present in Halo Infinite—but only for Xbox currently.

Those on Xbox can play split-screen with friends as long as everyone playing has their own account. Currently, there appears to be an issue with guest accounts when trying to play split-screen. For now, make sure everyone is signed into their account so you can play together. To do so, follow these steps.

  • Open the multiplayer lobby.Turn on the second controller and select a user. If all works well, you will be able to play split-screen.

As Halo Infinite is a new game, there are bound to be issued with any of its systems, and it seems that split-screen is one of them. It may take a few attempts before you can successfully get your friends in the game, but keep trying, and eventually, you should be able to play together.

Split-screen is only available on Xbox, but 343 Industries will likely add the feature to PC later. This means that players will have to stick to online multiplayer on PC in the meantime.
