One of the new things that was introduced with the Dawning 2020 event in Destiny is Dawning Spirit. You will need to generate this resource to progress some of the quests you will need to complete over the course of the event.
You can get Dawning Spirit by giving any cookie to any character in the game, or by handing in Bounties to Eva Levante. There is a sneaky way to generate a lot of it, and fast, if you feel up to it.
Rahool is happy to accept cookies called Burnt Edge Transits that nobody else will want. These are cookies that are generated by using a Recipe that will not make any other type of cookie. The recipe you make will cost 15 Essence of Dawning, but Rahool will give you back 15 Essence of Dawning and on Dawning Spirit for each cookie that you give him. It’s a great way to use up ingredients that you no longer need.
We like to use Cabal Oil and Multifacets Flavors as they are both pretty common drops, and can be easily farmed. Cabal Oil can be gotten by killing any Cabal enemy, while Multifacted Flavors will drop from multi kills.
Every bit of Dawning Spirit you generate helps the community complete the overall Dawning Spirit Score challenge “Share the Dawning Spirit”.
The Dawning will run from December 15 until January 5, so you have a huge amount of time to get these quests finished, cook up all the treats and give them to the various NPCs, and get all the possible rewards from the event.
