The P.K.E. Monitor is one of the most widely used pieces of equipment in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. The reason for this is that it actually was created by Dr. Egon Spengler for the purpose of tracking ghosts and similar entities. The P.K.E. Monitor appears throughout the franchise in their movies and even in the previous games. For good reason, though, as it can be insanely helpful, given you know how to use it properly!

There are lights on your P.K.E. Monitor that may throw you off or even intimidate you. Don’t be fooled; it’s actually fairly simple to read! Let’s go over the different parts of the P.K.E. Monitor in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed:

  • The Screen
  • Tells you which kind of signal you are picking up.
  • Red “X” – There is no signal, and there are no entities nearby
  • Green Dotted Line Incline – The signal is coming from a rift
  • Green Dotten Line Decline – The signal is coming directly from a ghost
  • The Lights Beneath the Screen
  • Tells you which floor the signal is being picked up on.
  • Orange (Center) – The signal is coming from the floor that you are currently on
  • Red (Left) – The signal is coming from the floor below you
  • Green (Right) – The signal is coming from the floor above you

Keep in mind that the rest of the lights on your Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed P.K.E. Monitor are basically useless and serve no purpose. Though, pay close attention to the height of the arms on the Monitor. They indicate how close the signal is! The higher they go, the closer the signal is!
