Project Triangle Strategy is a game that gives you a bit of freedom in the way you experience its story. Your first taste of this comes in Chapter Three, where you must decide between venturing to either the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost or the Holy Land of Hyzante. While both routes contain a character that can be recruited to your roster, choosing to escort the ministers of Hyzante will lead to an encounter with a troubled man—The Cryomancer, Corentin Jennar.

Note: Minor character spoilers for Corentin Jennar follow.

Corentin Jennar, Cryomancer of Hyzante

Recruiting Corentin

Corentin can be added to House Wolffort by completing Chapter Three: A Land of Sand and Sun. To do this, first, you’ll need to convince the majority of your party to vote for traveling to Hyzante. This requires changing the minds of Roland, Erador, and Hughette, which can be done by using the conversation topics learned during the tournament celebration in Chapter Two.

After the vote has been decided, make your way to the Holy Land of Hyzante and progress through the main story. Following the final battle of Chapter Three, Corentin will decide he’s had enough with the Ministry of Medicine and plans to leave Hyzante. He’ll request to join House Wolffort as its ninth member, becoming a powerful addition to your party in the process.

If you happen to choose Aesfrost instead of Hyzante during Chapter Three, don’t worry—you’re still able to recruit Corentin down the road. He’ll be encountered later on in the main story, meaning you can add him to your team as long as his convictions align with Serenoa’s.

Abilities

As a researcher of the arcane arts in Hyzante, Corentin has access to some devastating Ice magic. His initial weapon is the Tome of Ice, a book containing a wide array of frosty spells. Icy Breath hits multiple enemies with an area-of-effect ice attack, causing multiple icy spikes to erupt from beneath the enemy. Up to five opponents can be hit with this spell under the right conditions.

Frosty Fetters targets a single enemy, dealing Ice-type magic damage and freezing the ground. This spell also has a chance to inflict Silence on the enemy it hits, making it a valuable tool when facing other mages and spell-casters in battle. Additionally, Corentin’s Ice magic can blend with Frederica’s Fire magic to create puddles, a terrain effect that enhances lightning magic damage.

Corentin adds quite a bit of magic firepower to the team, giving you more options when it comes to hitting enemies from a distance. If you like using visually stunning and destructive spells to obliterate your opponents, make sure to visit Hyzante during Chapter Three so you don’t miss out on recruiting this cool character early on!
