To save in Ultra Age, you must first progress through the game until you are knocked off a cliff after a boss fight you cannot win. After a cutscene happens, you being a tutorial segment collecting crystals. You have to wait until this segment is over to save.

You need to interact with a tall-looking beacon to save your game, but saving is completely automatic. You have no manual save option or checkpoints that will save your game during certain intervals. All you have to do is interact with this beacon, and your game is saved.

It’s understandable if you are not sure if the game has been saved or not because there is no indication of the game doing so. No text on screen, nothing. But just know that when you interact with a save point, the game does save, so you stop playing knowing your data is safe.

Your save point is also how you upgrade equipment, weapons, and other things, so you’re never going to pass one by accident because it is used for so many mechanics of the game. Plus, a green text appears, informing you what you can upgrade upon being close to one.
