Cyberpunk 2077 officially went live on December 10, but with all there is to do in Night City, the last thing you want to happen is get stuck in a shootout and lose all your progress if a flatline occurs. To avoid this, it’s imperative to save your game frequently. So how do you do that? It’s actually pretty simple, so let’s go over what you need to do.
How to save in Cyberpunk 2077
To pull up the menu, press either the Home button (for Xbox) or Start (for PlayStation) to pull up the option to save the game. Press the Save Game option to either overwrite the current file, or create a new save by selecting the New Save tab. Additionally, you can press Y (for Xbox and PC, should you be using an Xbox controller) or Triangle (for PlayStation) to Quicksave. This will immediately overwrite the active file.
Even though Cyberpunk 2077 will automatically save at certain checkpoints, it won’t in many cases. To avoid losing any progress should you flatline, or if your game crashes, as I mentioned previously, save frequently. This sentiment can’t be emphasized enough. Otherwise, you might be starting back at square one.
