To complete the Life sentence achievement in DogLife, players will need to remain in a shelter for a total of ten years. You can reach ten years by aging up but doing so will require you to avoid many encounters.
Start by creating or rerolling a character until you are a shelter dog or cat. Once your character is created, you will then need to age up until you reach ten years. However, it’s worth noting that doing so is easier said than done.
The reason why is that you will need to avoid getting adopted or getting put down by the shelter. Along with that, avoiding fights with other animals whenever possible would also be ideal.
You can avoid getting adopted by people in the game by choosing an option in the adoption event pop-ups that would make a person less likely to adopt you.
For example: urinating, barking, bearing teeth, and snarling are some of the options you will need to look for and use in these encounters.
If you don’t see one of these options, choose the next best one that sounds like it would make someone less likely to adopt you.
Now to avoid fights with other dogs, you will need to submit to every dog that acts aggressively to you. If you don’t, you could end up getting into fights and either dying or killing the other dog, which can result in you getting put down.
Because of this, it’s better to avoid fights all together so you can last a total of ten years in the game and complete the life sentence achievement.
