There are many Favors in God of War Ragnarok, which are side quests you’ll get XP and rewards for completing. One particular Favor is called In Service of Asgard, where you have to shut down three Mining Rigs. Here’s a walkthrough on how to shut down the third Mining Rig, called Althjof’s Rig, in God of War Ragnarok.
In Service of Asgard walkthrough - How to shut down Althjof’s Rig in God of War Ragnarok
Where to find Odin’s Raven on Althjof’s Rig in God of War Ragnarok
Not long after climbing up the chain, you can find Odin’s Raven on Althjof’s Rig in God of War Ragnarok. At the top, immediately turn left and go into the corner to find a small break in the wood to the right of the barrel, where Odin’s Raven is perched. Throw your axe at it to destroy it.
How to shut down Althjof’s Mining Rig in God of War Ragnarok
To start shutting down Althjof’s Mining Rig in God of War Ragnarok, you must first reach the fire’s location. Interacting with the spinning wheel just before you, push the left analog upwards to lower the grapple point, until the second lowest point. Then head to the wheel’s left, and grapple onto the lift to pull it down. Jump across, then grapple to reach the other side.
Use your blades on the red barrel to ignite it to explode the wooden barricade. Go left and grapple up onto a wooden board in this new area. Climb up, circle around, remove the metal shield for a shortcut, and interact with the wooden door to open it. Drop down and explode the red barrels to blow up the three wooden barricades. Going left will get you Hacksilver and progress by climbing the wooden beam on the right as you go through. At the end, climb up, walk towards the edge, and press circle for Kratos to break through the ground.
Once the Draugr have been dealt with, climb back up and head back to the entrance, where the spinning wheel is. This time pull down on the left analog to lift the grapple point, to it’s second-highest position. Head down below, where Kratos smashed the ground, and grapple the lift to send it upward. Go back up, and grapple up the wooden board in the picture above. Head left, jump over and then use the now heightened grapple point to get across.
Once across, kick the chain for another shortcut, then climb. Eliminate the Draugr here, then interact with the grate. Slice it with your Blades of Chaos, and Kratos will automatically throw in the Leviathan Blade to shut down another Mining Rig.
That is not all. If you want hidden chests, follow these next steps.
Where to find the hidden chest on Althjof’s Rig in God of War Ragnarok
To find the hidden chest in Althjof’s Rig, to the right of the grate you just destroyed, they’ll be two barrels in the corner. Get Atreus to fire at them to reveal a path you can sidle. On the other side, grapple to the other platform, and kick down the chain. Slide down the chain, jump to another platform, to return to the entrance.
Use the spinning wheel, and push upwards on the left analog stick to lower the grapple point as far as it can. Return to the hole Kratos created and use the lowered grapple point to get to the other side and open the chest.
Where to find the Legendary Chest on Althjof’s Rig in God of War Ragnarok
To find the Legendary Chest on Althjof’s Rig in God of War Ragnarok, head back to the spinning wheel, and this time hold down on the left analog stick to raise the grapple point as high as it can. Once done, head to the right of the spinning wheel and climb the chain. At the top, head left, grapple, then start mashing circle. Kratos will grapple onto a breakable wall and charge through it. Head right to find the Legendary Chest of Althjof’s Rig.
