When MMC Island was first announced, it was shrouded in mystery. Fans only had a short video and the promise that there would be an open beta coming soon. That was more than a year ago, and there haven’t been many updates around this new server. You can still sign up for the MMC Island open beta but be prepared for the possibility of disappointment if you don’t get in.

MMC Island open beta – how to sign up and the selection process

Although we still don’t have a definitive date that the beta begins, signing up for the MMC Island open beta is a relatively simple process. Visit the Noxcrew website and pop your email address into the form to sign up for their newsletter. It shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes and will guarantee you a chance at getting an invite.

It is just a chance, though. As explained in a post on the MCC Island forums, the MCC Island open beta selection process will be a lottery. Players will be randomly selected from the pool of people who have signed up. Initial waves will be small to allow the servers time to cope with the strain, but future waves will be bigger once the team knows their hardware can handle it.

Is there anything you can do to increase your odds of being selected? At this point, no – the selection process is entirely random. The forum post linked above mentions specifically that no one at Noxcrew can change or manipulate the results.

If you’re lucky enough to get that golden ticket, you’ll be asked to input your Minecraft: Java Edition username for access to the server. You’ll then need to follow the link to the MCC Island website to redeem your ticket through their store, a system that was chosen for the extra security it offers.

All of this applies to the General Admission tickets for the open beta. There will also be a Fast Pass Admission system, but no details on it have been shared as of yet.
