Riot Games has announced that Valorant will be coming sometime this summer. The 5v5 tactical shooter will pit two teams of players against each other in a best-of-24-rounds match. The game looks to chip away at competitive esports by taking on the likes of CS:GO and Overwatch. Riot has stated the game will use 128 tick servers and have multiple layers of anti-cheat to help give gamers the best possible experience.

If you are imaging yourself as a future Valorant professional, then you will want to get access to the game as soon as you can.

When is the Valorant open beta?

At the moment, Riot has not announced any date for a potential beta, open or otherwise. As with all things in the gaming space, however, there are plenty of rumors.

According to noted esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, we may end up hearing details about the Beta as early as Mar. 3. There is always a rumored event featuring high profile players and streamers on Mar. 10 to Mar. 12, which is planned to get promotional footage to promote any upcoming beta. Right now, this is all just a rumor, but it is something to help fuel the excitement.

As soon as Riot release official details on when the beta is, and how you can participate, we will update this article accordingly. It is reasonable to expect multiple betas for the game, with the most likely path being that the game releases sometime in the late summer, with an open beta happening around a month before release, and a closed beta taking place before that.

One of the main selling points for Valorant will be the crisp gunplay that Riot has said is the focus of the game, so multiple betas will help them to ensure the best possible experience for players when the game launches.
