In Splatoon 3, players can use various techniques to gain the upper hand against opponents. Some techniques, like the Squid Roll and the Squid Splurge, are so effective that we encourage you to learn them. And that’s the thing about this game; it all comes down to the tactics and strategies you and your teammates can use. This guide will teach you one of these: how to Squid Surge in Splatoon 3.

How to Squid Surge in Splatoon 3

The Squid Surge is a wall walking capability in Splatoon 3. Essentially, there are two ways to do the Squid Surge. The first involves launching yourself high in the air after inking the wall. This is achieved by holding the ZR trigger. This move is excellent for surprising your opponents as it allows you to shoot over them. The second method involves using the Squid Surge to climb the walls faster.

You can also think of the Squid Surge as a way to get to higher heights and move about the map. After all, many of the game’s maps have a high vantage point, so this technique is a great way to reach them. The Squid Surge is best used alongside another technique called the Squid Roll, which we will only briefly discuss here, as there is a guide out on the same.

The Squid Roll is a technique that players can perform while swimming through ink. Its signature move is the ability to change directions fast by pressing the B button.  You can pull off A Squid Roll at any place with ink and as long as you are moving fast. If you can pull off one successfully, you gain some split-second invincibility.

Mastering these two techniques will greatly improve your gameplay and increase the chances that you and your teammates will win crucial battles.
