With The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2 coming soon, players will be looking to best prepare for the wealth of new content. Often looking for the best ways to farm certain materials and what weapon rolls they should be looking for. However, one popular way players would use to get ready for expansions in the past is by stacking bounties. Here is how to stack bounties in preparation for The Witch Queen in Destiny 2.

Please note that Bungie has mentioned before that they would potentially remove the ability to stack bounties across seasons, so be aware that if they decided this was the season to implement this change, you may lose all stacked bounties.

What is bounty stacking?

Bounty stacking is the practice of completing several bounties but not turning them in. Completing multiple bounties from multiple NPC’s will allow you to turn them all in at once and get a huge influx of XP to upgrade your seasonal artifact. This is useful when a new expansion comes out because it allows players to turn in their bounties as soon as the expansion drops, resulting in a bunch of XP to start the expansion with. If you are looking to play The Witch Queens raid day one, this is a recommended practice.

How to stack bounties?

Stacking bounties sounds complicated, but it really is quite simple. The best way to stack bounties is to complete as many weekly bounties as possible. These bounties will reward more XP than what you’ll get from daily bounties. Each character can hold a total of 63 bounties at any given time. Fill this space up with as many weekly bounties as you can, then use daily bounties to occupy the rest of the space.

Below is a list of recommended NPC’s to get bounties from. These NPC’s give out weekly bounties that award 12,000 XP on completion.

  • Variks - Located on Europa, gives three different weekly bountiesShaw Han - Located in the Cosmodrome, gives two different weekly bountiesEris Morn - Located on the Moon, gives three different weekly bountiesLectern of Enchantment - Located on the Moon, gives two different weekly bountiesSaint-14 - Located at the Tower, gives nine different weekly bountiesHawthorne- Located at the Tower, gives eight different weekly bountiesLord Saladin - Located at the Tower during Iron Banner, gives 7 different weekly bounties

If you can get all of these bounties, that gives you over 30 weekly bounties to turn in when The Witch Queen goes live. All of those paired with the daily bounties used to fill in the extra space can get you at least 500,000 XP when turned in. Just make sure you wait to get the seasonal Artifact before turning in the bounties, as the bounties will level the Artifact up around five times.

This method is not recommended for average players who will have more than enough time to complete both the season pass and level up their artifact but is recommended for those looking to run the raid on day one or don’t have enough time to devote to it the game.
