You’ve completed the Pokédex, finished the story, and done all that you can to be a true Pokémon Master in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! You have nothing left to do and don’t mind losing all of the Pokémon that you’ve collected over your play session. What are you going to do next?

One option is to reset the game and try to do it all over again. You only get one save file per Nintendo Switch User Profile—so if you want to start from scratch, it’ll delete all of your previous progress.

Before you consider doing this, it’s important to note that if you have the Mew from the Poké Ball Plus on your account, you should trade it to another player’s game first. There’s no way to get a second Mew from the same Poké Ball Plus, so if you delete your save file with the Mew on it, it’s gone for good. This rule applies to any Pokémon you sent over from Pokémon Go as well or any Pokémon you would like to keep.

If you don’t have a friend to send your Pokémon over to or you want to keep your save file, then you might as well just create a new User Profile in the main menu of the Nintendo Switch and open up the game with that new profile. You’ll instantly start a new game on this profile and retain all the saved data on your main account.

Then, all you need to do is change between users depending on which file you want to play on. You can do this multiple times.

If you just want to watch the world burn, however, and understand the consequences, here’s everything you need to do to reset your copy of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

  • Step 1: In the Switch menu, go into System settings.
  • Step 2: Click on “Data Management” and then “Save Data/Screenshots and Videos.”
  • Step 3: Find your Save Data for Pokémon: Let’s Go and hit “Delete” confirming each time that you indeed want to remove your save data from the system.
  • Step 4: You’ll then be free to start from scratch.
