Charge!

The Call of Duty: Vanguard single-player campaign spans all fronts of the war, but some players will have trouble surviving the charge section in an early mission with Kingsley. The Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign is filled with setpieces like this one, but if you’re playing on a higher difficulty, you may have trouble getting across the field alive. It’s just a short sprint though, so you should be able to get past it quickly if you know where to go. Here’s how to survive the charge in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

How to Survive the Charge in the Vanguard Campaign

In the Operation Ronga mission of the Vanguard campaign, you’ll be placed into the boots of Arthur Kingsley before he became the leader of Task Force One. In this mission, he has to lead a charge across an open field into fortified Nazi trenches, and many players are struggling to dodge the Nazi fire and cross the field alive, especially on Hardened or Veteran difficulty.

When it comes to surviving the charge, there are a few things you can do to ensure your survival. The most important thing is to take it slow. Do not run in front of your squadmates. The first person in the group is an easy target for the Nazis, so you want to let the NPCs take the shots for you. Also, try to stay behind NPCs as much as you can. They make great cover.

Finally, just stick with your named allies. Stay as closed to Richard Webb as you can, and don’t stray too far to the right. If you leave your allies’ side, you’ll be gunned down by the Nazi machine guns and be forced to restart from the most recent checkpoint. Once you make it across the field into the trenches, you’re safe and can continue the mission at your leisure.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
