Just like most recent updates, the Minecraft 1.19 beta features are officially only available for the Bedrock Edition. So, if you are running the Java edition of the game, skip to the next section to see what all features are available in the existing 1.19 beta update.
Test out The New Minecraft 1.19 Wild Update Features
Once you have installed the beta, you can try out a variety of upcoming features in the Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update. Let’s go over each of them one by one. Though, make sure your world mode is creative before doing so, because then only will this game allow you to spawn these items in your Minecraft world.
One of the newest and most exciting mobs coming to the game with the Minecraft 1.19 update is frogs. To see what they look like, search for “spawn frog” in your creative inventory by pressing E or the inventory button. Doing so will lead you to the Spawn Frog egg, which you can then place in your regular inventory at the bottom of the screen.
Then, once you have the egg, you can place it on the ground to spawn frogs in your world. At the moment, Minecraft 1.19 has 3 different variants of the frog. You can get a tropical white frog in hot biomes, a green frog in cold biomes, and the default orange frog is regular biomes. Here’s a look at what the frog mob looks like in each of these Minecraft 1.19 biomes right here:
Froglights
Just like the frogs, you can also find froglights in your creative inventory. However, being able to create them in-game is much more fun. Froglights don’t have a specific crafting recipe. Instead, they are dropped whenever a frog eats a baby slime. As strange as it sounds, it makes up for a fun visual. Not to forget, you can get 3 different foglights depending upon the color of the frog that drops it. Check out how to get froglights in Minecraft 1.19 right here:
Tadpoles & Eggs
The next item you can get from the Minecraft 1.19 beta update is the tadpoles mob. Unlike most in-game mobs, Minecraft doesn’t have baby frogs. Instead, staying parallel to the real world, it has introduced tadpoles. Frogs naturally spawn frog eggs inside water after mating. You can also manually place them in water using your creative inventory. Then, within around 15 in-game minutes, the eggs hatch to first grow into tadpoles and then into frogs.
Alternatively, the update also adds tadpole spawn eggs that you can use to spawn them directly in your world. Not to forget, similar to the other in-game fishes, tadpoles can be also be captured in a water bucket. You can easily find “tadpole in a bucket” in your creative inventory.
The most obvious way of getting 1.19 features on Minecraft Java is by waiting for the beta snapshots release. Java editions usually get them 6-8 weeks before the release date. Assuming that the rumored Minecraft 1.19 release date of April 2022 comes out to be true, even then, the beta snapshots release is still months away. So, if you don’t want to wait, you can use the following mods to get Minecraft 1.19 features right now. Though, make sure to install Forge in Minecraft to run the mods listed below.
This is one of the best and most powerful Minecraft mods of all time and brings all of the announced features from the 1.19 wild update to Minecraft 1.18 update. You have the swamps biome and its mangrove variant with frogs, fireflies, and tadpoles. But that’s not all, as it also adds the deep dark into the game. Even the current Bedrock beta doesn’t have the deep dark. And if you are wondering, it does have the blind Warden with a functioning AI.
The Missing Villages Mod
Beyond the announced features, many players are looking forward to getting two missing villages in the game. Yes, we are talking about the jungle and swamp villages. Both of these have villager models in the game, but the villages don’t spawn under any circumstances, for some reason. We are expecting the Minecraft 1.19 Wild update to fix this situation. However, this slightly old mod does a lot more.
The final mod that lets you get Minecraft 1.19 features right now is Biomes O’ Plenty. If you have used the best Minecraft mods before, chances are pretty high that you know this popular mod already. As the name suggests, this mod adds and improves the in-game biomes. Coincidentally, that’s also the overall theme of the Wild update. Though, this mod takes it to a new level.
