Outriders is a fun, third person action game featuring lots of big guns, and plenty of strange magical powers. Unfortunately, one area where the game is currently lacking is in robust graphical options.

Motion blur is a prominent issues for players right now, blurring up the screen and frankly making things a little hard to stomach for some folks out there. If you are one of the people that has been struggling, then we have a solution for you.

In Menu

To reduce motion blur you can head into the Display(advanced) tab and reduce the level of Post Process Quality. This is the option that controls the amount of motion blur that will appear on the screen. While you can’t turn it off completely this way, it is something and will help you out.

Config Files

For those on PC who wish to get rid of it entirely, some basic changes to a couple of config files will do the trick. To complete remove motion blur, follow the below steps.

  • Go to C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Madness\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditorOpen a file called Engine.ini, and Gameusersettings.ini in NotepadGo to the bottom of the, leave a space, then copy and paste the below lines[SystemSetting]r.MotionBlurQuality=0r.DepthofFieldQuality=0r.FastBlurThreshold=0r.BlurGBuffer=0

Copy those lines into both files, then save them. It is a good idea to back up the files before you make any changes.

  • [SystemSetting]r.MotionBlurQuality=0r.DepthofFieldQuality=0r.FastBlurThreshold=0r.BlurGBuffer=0

Now, the next time you load up the game, motion blur should be no more. Thankfully, the game uses Unreal Engine 4, which has commonly known config commands for motion blur, so solving this isn’t a major problem.

There is a chance that people running multi-monitor setups will need to reconfigure their display screen the next time the game launches, but that can be done through the menus very quickly.
