Blacktail follows the tragic origin story of Yaga, the infamous witch in the woods from Slavic mythology. We follow Yaga’s journey as she fights enemies, battles her own demons, and learns the art of witchcraft. Along the way, players can brew a plethora of skills using resources in the cauldron in Yaga’s Hut. However, before we can make skills, we need to unlock them. The following is a guide on how you can unlock more skills in Blacktail.
How to get more skills in Blacktail
Skills in Blacktail can range from specialized arrows, hocus skills, potions, and increased vitality. Although many skills can be unlocked by simply progressing through the game’s main questline, most skills require a certain corresponding Lost Page to be unlocked. Lost Pages can be obtained from Chest Beasts, Warden Treasures, or by completing main story quests. For example, the Lost Page required for crafting Sticky Arrows is obtained after completing the There Be Dragons quest.
It is also worth noting that many skills fall under a certain Hex category, and unlocking a certain number of skills belonging to one Hex group will unlock its corresponding Hex buff. Skills can only be unlocked or brewed in the Hut. Therefore, once you collect a Lost Page, make sure to head back to the Hut to unlock its skill. Once a skill is unlocked, it will require a certain number of resources to be brewed. The resources required are displayed at the bottom of your screen once you open the cauldron.
