Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope adds and expands upon the features of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. This includes the skill trees that let you customize your characters. You may notice, however, a 5th skill tree that is locked—this is the Spark Branch. This may leave you wondering how to unlock the hidden Spark Branch in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

How to unlock the Spark Branch in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

To unlock the Spark Branch in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, you must first acquire a Gold Prism. This will allow you to unlock the Spark Branch for one character. Be careful who you select, as there is no way to get the Gold Prism back once you have used it. Unlike normal skills, these cannot be upgraded past the first level. We used our first Gold Prism on Rabbid Rosalina, and the available options were:

  • Spark GiftAt the 1st turn, a Spark has a 25% chance to gift a random item.Spark RefresherAfter activation, each Spark has a 35% chance to avoid the cooldown.Spark GuardA Spark has a 30% chance to save a Hero from a death blow.Spark EnergyWhen used, each Spark has a 25% chance of granting a new Action Point.

How to get Gold Prisms in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

You can obtain Gold Prisms by defeating optional bosses. The first chance you get is defeating the Truly Ginormous Goomba in Beacon Beach’s Sunrise Temple. These bosses are usually gated by a golden pipe that requires several Sparks. Upon defeating the boss, you will be awarded a Gold Prism. There are others on each planet, so keep an eye out for them.
