The Hydro Turret is a Utility device in Slime Rancher 2 that serves as an automated defense against Tarr Slimes. The Tarr serves as one of Beatrix’s main antagonists during her adventure on Rainbow Island. These corrupted creatures are the result of a Largo Slime consuming a Plort that it cannot produce. These beasts are vile and can overrun the player protagonist’s entire Conservated if not dealt with promptly. As their primary weakness is water, players can use the Water Tank Upgrade to repel the Tarr Slimes. However, when their numbers get out of hand, the Hydro Turret is an excellent companion to help defeat The Tarr horde in Slime Rancher 2. 

How to Unlock the Hydro Turret in Slime Rancher 2

To unlock the Hydro Turret in Slime Rancher 2, players first must acquire the Fabricator blueprint for the Upgrade. This blueprint can be found within a Treasure Pod located in the peninsula northwest of the Conservatory. No key is required to open the Pod, so adventurers only need to interact with the container to retrieve the blueprint.

After collecting all the necessary materials, players can craft and unlock the Hydro Turret at the Fabricator.

  • Newbucks can earned by selling Plorts at the Conservatory’s Marketplace in Slime Rancher 2.

  • Puddle Slimes can be found in Ember Valley and Starlight Strand.

  • These biomes are accessible by unlocking the portals guarded by the Pink Gordo and Cotton Gordo, respectively.

  • The Pink Gordo is located to the northwest of the Rainbow Fields, while the Cotton Gordo can be found toward the south.

  • Puddle Slimes are a rare spawn that only reside in pools of water, as they cannot survive without moisture.

  • Boom Slimes can be found in the western volcanic section of Ember Valley.

  • Be careful when catching these Slimes, as they will occasionally explode, dealing damage to the player.

  • Deep Brine can be collected from the spouting fountains found about the Rainbow Fields.
